Located in north central North Carolina, the Town of Butner is known for its historic ties to the US military and located in what was once Camp Butner, a training base established mid-twentieth century. In the early twenty-first century, the State began to incorporate Butner as a town and the need for public facilities to serve the community soon arose
Butner Town Hall
In 2008, the town hired HagerSmith to design a new Town Hall on the site of the former base commander’s headquarters. The Town Hall consists of a Council Chambers, a multi-purpose community room, office space for the county’s water authority and office space for the Town of Butner.
In addition to these spaces, a large gallery was created to separate the public space from the semi-private office area and is used to display artifacts and photographs depicting the history of Butner.
