Landscape Architecture

Strategically located between Interstate 87 and US 64-Wendell Boulevard, Wendell Commerce Center will incorporate warehouse/distribution facilities, commercial outparcels and room for multifamily development in a rapidly developing area of the Triangle region.

HagerSmith Design’s landscape architects and architects collaborated to design a site plan that could comfortably house commercial, residential and distribution facilities, and maximize the available space for the construction of eight buildings on-site. Slated to be completed in Q2 2026, the site has already attracted the interest of national and international pharmaceutical and life science companies.

When completed, the project is expected to generate both jobs and millions in investment opportunities as tenants move into the commerce center. The project also helps to diversify Wendell’s commercial and residential site offerings for a fast-growing community. Future collaborations with Wake Technical College’s East Campus, located across from the commerce center, are also in discussion, where future tenants could sponsor student internship and apprenticeship opportunities with graduates.

Additional improvements to the area around Wendell Commerce Center includes grading and pipeline work, as well as offsite road improvements on US 64, which will be widened in anticipation of increased traffic to the site.
