HagerSmith Design was tapped by Beacon Partners to create a new, modernized home for Rand Coca-Cola with ample space for growth, upgraded office environments and high-tech beverage sorting equipment. The new building consolidates the company’s office and warehouse operations under one roof, creating a seamless transfer between front-of-house business and order fulfillment support.
The interior of the building pays homage to Coca-Cola’s iconic branding and the Rand family’s impact on the company’s growth and success in North Carolina. Coca-Cola red runs through every room inside the office areas, uniting the visual spaces under the same theme with Rand family heirlooms and vintage Coca-Cola products and advertisements added to personalize the global branding.
Along with communal work areas and staff training rooms, Rand Coca-Cola’s office features a boardroom with current and past Coke slogans on a detail wall. The café and break room are illuminated by a 3D-printed Coca-Cola bottle light fixture and include diner-style booths and pendant lights against the far wall.
The back of the building houses the automated distribution and sorting center, along with storage racking and wide alleys for forklift access. Twenty-three dock bays ensure that product pickup and shipping flow smoothly and depart on-schedule, and an interior truck wash bay offers a dedicated area for keeping company trucks clean. An automated track and product sorting arms expedite the loading process.
The result is an efficient and brand-oriented workspace where both management and processing teams can gather, train, and strategize to increase the scope of the company’s beverage distribution.
